Eco-chic lighting plan for a midcentury bungalow

I completed this project in April 2008 for a lighting design workshop. The floor plan we were given was an open-plan 1960s bungalow renovation. I imagined the clients as fans of midcentury modern design, and used that as my starting point. Fixtures from Propellor Design, Fire & Water, Circa Lighting, Jonathan Adler, Urban Archaeology, LBL, and Progress Lighting specified, using a mix of CFL, LED, and halogen lamps for energy-efficient lighting that sacrifices neither style nor colour rendition. The Propellor Designs ‘Stratus’ and ‘Cumulus’ fixtures are made using 3form Varia Eco-Resin, and the Fire & Water ‘Frankie Goes Fluorescent’ line are made with Environ.
